Marco Gomes

Chef Marco Gomes is a highly distinguished Executive Chef with over three decades shaping Portuguese gastronomy. He is nationally recognized as a leader in luxury hospitality and culinary promotion.

His career includes landmark achievements such as overseeing the opening of Hotel Casa da Calçada, achieving Relais & Châteaux status, and founding Restaurante Foz Velha in Porto, an award-winning icon for 13 years. He also established Porto's first Culinary Training Academy.

Currently the owner of Restaurante OFICINA, Chef Gomes has been featured in the Michelin Guide since its opening and is a decorated chef. He received the Order of Prince Henry and was named "Young Promising Chef of Portuguese Cuisine" by the President of Portugal in 2010. A prominent media figure and educator, his work champions the country's culinary heritage.
