Bakery Padaria Formosa

Few places capture the heritage of Portuguese baking quite like Padaria Formosa. Founded in 1898 in Foz do Douro, it is one of the oldest bakeries in Porto. A 2024 renovation revamped the space, preserving its historic soul.

This isn't just a bakery; its wood-fired oven scents and time-honored recipes create a comforting sense of grandma's cooking. Everything is done on the spot with fine flour.

Highlights include the classic Bijou bread, sweet broinhas, festive, bolo-rei, bolo-rei), and delicate Pão-de-ló-ló, all scented by bread and broa (cornbread).
